The Ivorian defender puts pen to paper until 2033 in what becomes Madrid's record transfer after arriving from RB Leipzig.
Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of Yan Diomande. According to MARCA, the club sealed an agreement with the Ivorian international and, after several days of negotiations, completed the deal with RB Leipzig for €125 million plus €15 million in variables. The defender signs a seven-year contract through 2033, making this the most expensive transfer in Madrid's history and the longest deal the club has handed out.
Diomande, 19, was a standout performer at the recent World Cup. In his last season in Germany, he recorded 13 goals and 9 assists while also leading the Bundesliga in completed dribbles. Madrid had him on the radar for a while, though they only ramped up their push just over a week ago, when an aggressive approach from the Spanish giants shifted a scenario where PSG had also shown interest.
He becomes Mourinho's sixth signing this window, joining Bernardo Silva, Konaté, Cucurella, Dumfries and Espí. Diomande can play on either flank, though his natural position is right-back, adding competition in attack alongside Silva's arrival.
