The La Masia academy product has required multiple surgical interventions, but is now making positive strides in his rehabilitation. According to Mundo Deportivo, the American club targets his return for 2027, though an earlier comeback is possible if his recovery continues smoothly.

Puig himself confirmed the progress through social media with an optimistic message: "Back to doing what I love most". Before his injury in 2024, he recorded his best career numbers with 17 goals and 12 assists across 33 appearances.
