River Plate reaches verbal agreement for Almada signing

The deal is moving fast. According to Fabrizio Romano, River Plate and Atlético Madrid have reached a verbal agreement over Thiago Almada's transfer. The clubs have struck a deal worth more than €20 million, and the midfielder has also agreed personal terms with the Argentine club.

Formal procedures are next on the agenda to complete the operation. Almada, who came through Defensa y Justicia's academy and gained European experience, would now return to Argentina to play at the Monumental.
