Roberto sends support to injured teammate Kike García

The strong bond between Roberto and Kike García at Espanyol was evident once again this Tuesday. Shortly after learning that the latter would require surgery on his right biceps femoris tendon, the Madrid-born forward sent a message of encouragement through social media.

"Back with us soon Kike! Stay strong mate", Roberto posted on his Instagram Stories. According to Mundo Deportivo, the recovery period from injuries like Kike García's typically lasts three to four months, meaning the last season's Espanyol top scorer will miss at least the opening third of the 2024-25 campaign, which begins next Sunday, August 16th, with Levante's visit.

This forced absence will require Roberto to step up and become the main attacking reference for the Catalan club over the coming months.
