Rodri Sánchez: "I think about returning to Spain one day"

Rodri Sánchez spoke to Mundo Deportivo about his time in Qatari football. The winger, who left Real Betis two years ago, has just renewed with Al Arabi until 2030 after becoming one of the stars of the Qatari league.

On his future, the talented Talayuela-born winger was clear: "I'm happy here and I've just renewed until 2030, but after this contract I would like to play three, four or five years in Spain. Right now I would say yes". In this way, Rodri Sánchez opens the door to a return to Spanish football once his commitment to the Qatari side ends.

The player also spoke about the possibility of representing Qatar in international competitions. According to him, there is a FIFA rule that prevents playing for two national teams after the age of 21, but Qatar is trying to change this regulation: "If it happens, it would be a good opportunity to play major tournaments with Qatar. I think about returning to Spain one day because it's my country, but there are opportunities you have to seize".
