Rodri in limbo: Barcelona raises offer to €60 million

Barcelona increases its proposal to Manchester City to €60 million plus add-ons for Rodri, who has already agreed to join the Blaugrana.

The Rodri deal is advancing, though negotiations between Barcelona and Manchester City remain tense. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Catalan club has gradually raised its initial bid from €45 million fixed plus €5 million in variables to approximately €60 million fixed plus another €5 million in variables. City, holding firm at €70–80 million demanded at the outset, has yet to respond.

From Camp Nou's perspective, this figure represents roughly the ceiling they can stretch to given that Rodri has only one year remaining on his contract (until June 2027). The midfielder has already given his approval to Barcelona, turning down other offers including Real Madrid's, which increases pressure on City to accept a lower sum.

The English club knows it will lose the player regardless, especially now that Enzo Maresca takes over as manager and Rodri urgently needs to get started. There is speculation that City may allow the midfielder to skip Friday training while the final details of what Barcelona views as an imminent operation are ironed out.
