Sergi Roberto to join LA Galaxy on verbal agreement

Sergi Roberto is set to complete his move to LA Galaxy in MLS. According to Matteo Moretto, the 34-year-old midfielder has already reached a verbal agreement with the California-based club, pending the completion of administrative procedures for the official announcement.

The Reus-born player joined Como on a free transfer in 2024 after leaving Barcelona, where he had progressed through the academy since 2006. In Italy, he helped Cesc Fàbregas's side finish fourth in Serie A and secure their first-ever Champions League qualification, but contract renewal talks did not materialise.

Roberto was seeking a fresh challenge and now has the opportunity to test himself in the MLS. His Barcelona legacy remains cemented by the goal he scored in the iconic 6-1 comeback against PSG in the 2016-17 Champions League round of 16.
