Shea Charles to Fulham pending medical tests

The Fulham and Southampton agreement for Shea Charles moves towards the finish line. According to BBC Sport, the two clubs have reached a deal worth up to £30m and the 22-year-old midfielder only needs to pass his medical tests to make it official.

Charles will sign a five-year contract with the Cottagers and become the most expensive Northern Irish footballer in history. The midfielder, who started his career at Manchester City, had also caught the attention of Leeds United but has chosen west London to fill the gap left by Sasa Lukic following his move to Ipswich last week.

It is Álvaro Arbeloa's third signing at Fulham since his arrival as manager following his spell at Real Madrid. Alongside Charles, the new boss has brought in striker Gonzalo García and midfielder César Palacios, both from the Spanish club.
