Simeone on Kang-in: "I don't know where he'll play"

Diego Simeone spoke after Atlético Madrid's 3-1 defeat to Manchester City and discussed Kang-in Lee's debut, during which the 16-year-old opened the scoring on his rojiblancos bow. The coach gave an overall assessment: "The general feeling was that we competed very well, the young players made a great effort. Then the 2-1 broke the match in City's favour and they won deservedly".

On the South Korean winger's positional flexibility, Simeone remained cautious: "I don't know where Kang-in will play. He can do it on the right, on the left, as a playmaker, he adapts to several systems, we'll try to put him where we think he does best for the team". The manager stressed that adaptation will take time, something natural for any new player.

Simeone also spoke about Domínguez, another academy product who scored his first goal, appealing to protect the youngsters: "If he carries on like this we have an important player in development, we mustn't rush him, we must protect him. He can help us".
