Simón, Athletic's only World Cup winner for Atalanta clash

Athletic travel to Bergamo this Friday to wrap up their preseason against Atalanta, the final warm-up before kicking off La Liga on August 22 against Sevilla. Of the three World Cup winners in the Basque squad, only Unai Simón makes Terzic's squad, according to MARCA.

Laporte and Nico Williams, who returned to training on Monday, stay behind in Lezama. The German coach will take 23 players to Italy: Padilla, Paredes, Yeray, Berenguer, Sancet, Iñaki Williams, Areso, Ruiz de Galarreta, Yuri, Jauregizar, Adama, Maroan, Nico Serrano, Navarro, Prados, Canales, Gere, Rego, Johaneko, Rincón, Monreal and Djaló.

The only notable absence without official medical explanation is top scorer Guruzeta. After the Bergamo friendly, the team will train Sunday in Lezama and rest Monday before focusing on final preparations for the league opener.
