Sow joins Genoa for his release clause fee

The Swiss midfielder leaves Sevilla after three seasons and 100 official matches.

Sevilla and Genoa have completed the transfer of Djibril Sow, as confirmed by the Andalusian club. The Swiss midfielder departs for the four million euros that his release clause stipulates, as Matteo Moretto reported days earlier.

Sow leaves after three campaigns at Nervión, where he made 100 official appearances in the white-and-red shirt, scoring 8 goals and providing 13 assists. The midfielder arrived from Eintracht Frankfurt in summer 2023 and established himself as a versatile player in midfield, capable of fulfilling different roles. He was a regular for the Swiss national team, even appearing in the recent 2026 World Cup, where his country reached the quarter-finals.

Sow's departure provides significant relief to Sevilla's wage bill, following the recent departures of Juanlu Sánchez, Nianzou and Rafa Mir. The club is now working on signing Kochorashvili to strengthen their midfield options.
