Sporting and Valladolid close preseason with goalfest at the Molinón

Like Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde, Sporting closed the preseason showing two completely opposite faces. Larcamón's side overpowered Valladolid in a first half full of attacking quality, with Otero in scintillating form scoring twice before the break. The second half was a nightmare. Valladolid came out firing and, in just six minutes, scored three goals that dismantled the home side. First Yeray produced a spectacular strike from the edge of the box that flew in off the post; then Tomeo capitalized on a poor effort from Clerc to deceive Yáñez, and finally Latasa exploited a shocking defensive mix-up to seal it.

According to Sport, the match exposed Sporting's flaws in their final warmup before facing Sabadell on Monday the 17th. Individual errors and defensive breakdowns turned a strong attacking display into nothing, laying bare the vulnerabilities that Larcamón's team will need to address urgently.
