Strasbourg in talks with Chelsea for attacker Deivid Washington

Strasbourg is in negotiations with Chelsea to sign Brazilian attacker Deivid Washington, according to L'Équipe. The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Chelsea's reserve team, where he made nine appearances, and is under contract with the London club until 2030.

This is not the first time the RCSA has tried to bring Washington to Alsace. The striker came very close to joining in summer 2024, but the deal fell through at that time. Now, almost two years later, the team that finished eighth in last season's Ligue 1 is back in pursuit of the Brazilian.

Portuguese interest

Washington has caught the attention of clubs beyond France. According to L'Équipe, the player is also being tracked by Portuguese sides, which could complicate Strasbourg's negotiations. Chelsea paid 16 million euros for him from Santos in 2023, an investment the Blues will seek to recoup through his next move.
