Toulouse suffer heavy defeat to Elche in final friendly

Toulouse ended their unbeaten streak this Saturday with a heavy defeat to Elche (0-4) in the closing match of their pre-season training camp in the Murcia region, according to L'Équipe.

In a one-sided affair lacking intensity and balance, the Spanish side made the most of a sluggish Toulouse performance, missing Yann Gboho and Dayann Methalie through injury. Jens Berthel Askou's men fell behind through goals from Germán Valera (14'), Grady Diangana (84'), and Fer Niño (90+1'). Toulouse's clearest chance came from a Rasmus Nicolaisen header from a corner (5'), while Cristian Casseres forced a save with a free-kick (44').

The extra thirty-minute period, arranged between the clubs but not counted in the official result, failed to turn the tide. Elche added a fourth in the closing moments (115'). Toulouse will have a chance to respond next Saturday against Hamburg at the Stadium.
