United will reject any bid for Fernandes

Manchester United makes clear Bruno Fernandes is not for sale despite interest from Galatasaray and other clubs.

Manchester United will reject any offer for Bruno Fernandes this summer, despite interest from several clubs in their captain. According to BBC Sport, Galatasaray was preparing a proposal worth around €50 million (£42.7m), but sources at Old Trafford warn it would be "a waste of time".

Other clubs testing the waters

It's not just the Turkish side interested. Juventus and AC Milan have also considered making an approach for the 31-year-old midfielder. However, United's stance is unwavering: Fernandes is not for sale at any price, the club's hierarchy has made clear.

This firmness marks a shift from last summer, when United allowed the Portuguese star to decide whether to accept Al-Hilal's lucrative Saudi Pro League offer — a decision Fernandes himself admitted left him "hurt". This time, the club has chosen to be direct.

United hold the upper hand

The £57m release clause in his contract has now expired, leaving United in a strong negotiating position. Fernandes has one year remaining on his deal plus an optional extra season, and the player wants to stay.

The midfielder has just enjoyed a stellar campaign: he set a Premier League record with 21 assists last season and is favourite to win the PFA Player of the Year award being announced next week. United know losing their talisman would be unthinkable for the fans.
