The Dutch goalkeeper arrives on loan from the English club without a purchase option and will cost Valencia 500,000 euros.
Valencia have secured the loan of Dutch goalkeeper Kayne Van Oevelen from Ipswich Town, according to MARCA. The keeper is expected to arrive this Wednesday to complete his medical and sign his contract.
The English club, who signed him this summer, has decided to loan him out after the early stages of the season. Valencia will pay 500,000 euros for the loan, though they attempted unsuccessfully to include a purchase option in the agreement — Ipswich rejected the proposal.
A second chance for Van Oevelen
Curiously, Valencia had already tracked Van Oevelen months ago, but were unable to pursue his signing as FC Volendam were asking more than the club was willing to spend on a goalkeeper. Fate has brought him to the Mestalla club now.
In the goalkeeper department, Van Oevelen arrives to compete with Stole Dmitrieski, though the North Macedonian starts with the advantage of having manager Corberán's confidence. The arrival also opens the exit door for Vicente Abril, who will join Nàstic de Tarragona on loan to gain minutes.
