Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic, free agent after leaving Juventus, chooses Besiktas over Barcelona and other suitors.
Dusan Vlahovic has finally made his decision, accepting an offer from Besiktas after weeks of deliberation about his future, according to Mundo Deportivo. The 26-year-old striker's contract with Juventus expired on June 30, and speculation had long linked him with FC Barcelona as a potential replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
Vlahovic arrived in Istanbul on Wednesday and was greeted by thousands of Besiktas fans at the airport, showcasing the Turkish club's excitement over the signing. The striker immediately spoke to local media with clear enthusiasm: "I am very happy to be at Besiktas. We want to be champions," he declared. He also thanked Vincenzo Italiano, the club's manager, for his role in bringing him to the club.
In the coming hours, Vlahovic will undergo the standard medical examinations before signing his contract with the Turkish side. The Serbian striker joined Juventus in 2022 from Fiorentina for over €80 million when he was just 22 years old.
