The 20-year-old French striker for Cagliari was admitted to intensive care in Sassari following a swimming pool incident.
Cagliari announced on Monday the hospitalization of young French forward Yael Trepy, 20, in the intensive care unit at Sassari Hospital in Sardinia. According to Corriere della Sera, the footballer suffered an accident in a swimming pool while spending Sunday at a villa in northeastern Sardinia.
According to the Italian media, Trepy ran into difficulties in the deep end of the pool. He was quickly pulled from the water and airlifted to Sassari, where he was admitted to intensive care. The club provided no further details about the circumstances of the incident.
The striker, developed at Créteil, had shown promise in the first half of last season in Serie A: featured in eight matches, he made a standout debut that helped his team draw against Cremona (2-2). Last Friday he started in Cagliari's opening Copa Italia match against Arezzo (1-0).
