Yan Couto joins Como on loan from Dortmund

Yan Couto is heading to Serie A. The Brazilian full-back, who won over Girona's fans during three seasons, joins Como on loan for one year with a €20 million purchase option, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The 'Strawberry' was key to Girona's historic Champions League qualification. In the decisive campaign, he provided 8 assists and one goal, with his ball control and runs down the right flank proving crucial at Montilivi. However, his subsequent spell at Borussia Dortmund fell short: he arrived for around €20 million from Manchester City but never became an undisputed starter and lost his place in Brazil's squad.

Now he joins a Como side needing quality signings to cope with their Champions League debut under Cesc Fàbregas, who has completely transformed the club since arriving in 2022. Couto offers a more attacking profile than other full-backs at the Italian club, where he hopes to rediscover his best form.
