Yokota joins Rangers from Hannover

Japanese winger Daisuke Yokota has joined Rangers from Hannover, according to BBC Sport. The 26-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the option of an extra year, becoming the Scottish club's ninth summer signing.

Yokota brings experience across several European leagues after starting his career in Germany as a teenager. He has played for FSV Frankfurt, Carl Zeiss Jena, Valmiera in Latvia, and Gornik Zabrze in Poland, as well as a spell at Belgian side Gent where he struggled to break into the first team and was loaned out to Kaiserslautern and Hannover.

"I'm really excited to be joining Rangers," Yokota told club media. "This is a massive club with a fantastic history, passionate supporters and high ambitions so it's a proud moment for me. My aim is to help the team achieve success this season."

Manager Derek McInnes noted that Yokota "is a player we have been aware of for some time" and "brings qualities that will strengthen our attacking options." The winger recorded five goals and four assists in 31 appearances for Hannover last season.
