Zézé emerges as central option for Real Sociedad

Nathan Zézé, a France U21 international and defender for Saudi Arabia's Neom SC, has emerged on the radar of Real Sociedad's sporting director Erik Bretos as a possible reinforcement for the club's defence, according to MARCA. The left-footed centre-back, standing 190 centimetres tall, made a name for himself at French club Nantes with solid performances both defensively and in attack.

The main hurdle is financial: the defender cost €20 million just a year ago—a steep price for Real Sociedad's budget. Villarreal had already shown interest previously, but Zézé and Nantes ultimately chose the more lucrative Saudi offer. L'équipe first reported his name on July 31st, and MARCA's Matteo Moretto now confirms the Basque side views him as a serious target for that left-sided centre-back they're seeking.

He's not alone on their list: Ladislav Krejcí, the Czech international defender at Wolverhampton, also appears as an alternative, though he too came with a hefty €30 million price tag recently. Real Sociedad will need to get creative if they want to push forward with either signing.
