Angeliño returns to Deportivo on loan from Roma
The left-back completes his return to the Galician club after nearly 15 years away. Season-long loan with purchase option between €2-3 million.
Angeliño has officially joined Deportivo after nearly two decades away from the club. The Coristanco-born full-back, whose full name is José Ángel Esmorís Tasende, arrived at the blanquiazul squad's training camp in Corveciano and passed his medical examination in Italy before sealing the move.
The deal has been completed as a season-long loan from Roma, according to Sport. Deportivo holds a purchase option set between two and three million euros for 2027, with the possibility of tying the player down until 2030 if executed. All parties have made significant efforts to adjust the player's salary to fit Dépor's economic parameters, as his Roma contract was unaffordable for the club's budget.
Angeliño arrives after completing pre-season under Gasperini at Roma, though he comes off a campaign with limited playing time due to health issues. He will compete with Giacomo Quagliata for the left flank and could make his debut in Thursday's friendly against Fiorentina. At 30 years old, the return represents a long-cherished dream for the player to come home.
