Anti-violence committee flags high-risk Atlético-Manchester United match
The Spanish anti-violence body classifies several games as high-risk between Sept 27 and Oct 14, including the Atlético vs United clash.
Spain’s Anti-Violence Committee has labelled several fixtures as high-risk between September 27 and October 14, with Atlético de Madrid vs Manchester United among those selected.
The list also extends to other pairings. According to Mundo Deportivo, the same category applies to games such as Oviedo-Sporting, Racing de Ferrol vs Pontevedra, and in European competition Real Betis vs FC Porto. The body adds that the high-risk label also reaches a Spain national-team match in the Nations League: the game against Croatia on September 29, to be played at the Sánchez Pizjuán in Seville.
High-risk derbies in Spain
Within domestic competitions, Antiviolencia identifies two regional derbies as high-risk:
- Oviedo vs Sporting on September 27, for matchday 7 of LaLiga Hypermotion.
- Racing de Ferrol vs Pontevedra on October 3, for matchday 6 of Primera Federación.
Europe: away fixtures highlighted
In Europe, the committee also points to two away trips as high-risk games:
- Manchester United’s visit to Atlético on October 13 in the Champions League.
- Porto’s trip to Betis in the competition’s second round.
The classification means special security and crowd-management measures for the matches included in the list.
