Cádiz seals Cristian Gutiérrez deal, Córdoba misses out on left-back

Cádiz have officially wrapped up the signing of Cristian Gutiérrez, as reported by Sport. The 25-year-old left-back arrives on loan from UD Las Palmas for one season with an option to purchase at the end of the campaign.

The move ends Córdoba's hopes of landing their main target for the left-back position following Ignasi Vilarrasa's departure to Burgos. Gutiérrez had already progressed in talks with the Córdoba side and was manager Iván Ania's preferred choice: an experienced Second Division operator with over 126 matches under his belt across spells at Málaga, Éibar and Las Palmas, where he peaked during his time at Ipurúa.

Córdoba's sporting department will now have to explore other options. Dani Sánchez from Málaga is emerging as an alternative following the andalusian club's promotion to La Liga. Dani Tasende remains the primary natural option at El Arcángel for now.
