Deco's visits intensify Barcelona's pursuit of Ajax's Godts

The FC Barcelona's interest in Mika Godts, a 21-year-old winger at Ajax, is now confirmed across Dutch circles. According to Mike Verweij, analyst for Ajax at 'De Telegraaf', sporting director Deco made several trips to the Johan Cruijff ArenA to watch the Dutch international, a move that reportedly convinced Jordi Cruyff, Ajax's general secretary, to hold firm on the player.

Currently, PSG is the club actively negotiating. The Parisians submitted an initial offer that Ajax rejected and are preparing a second attempt. Bayern Munich also tracked Godts but ultimately chose Ismael Saibari from PSV for his versatility as a centre-forward.

Deco's scouting missions and interest from major European clubs have strengthened Ajax's hand: Cruyff prefers the winger stays for another season in Amsterdam to preserve his market value.
