Djené urges calm at Getafe after Betis defeat (1-0)

Getafe’s Togolese defender Djené Dakonam said his team gave a good account of itself despite the 1-0 loss to Betis at Estadio La Cartuja, and he called for “calm” after the match.

A clear message

As MARCA reports, the centre-back believes “we competed really well” and that the goal they conceded is something they “can avoid,” stressing that the side has been working on that point. Still, he added they must keep going: “we have to keep it up.”

He also made it clear his message is aimed at both the fans and his teammates, because “the moment will come.” With that in mind, he avoided getting drawn into debate about refereeing.

“I won’t talk about referees”

According to MARCA, Djené was direct: “I won’t get into the refereeing; I only focus on my part.” He also noted the team is improving “every week” and warned about the competition’s difficulty: “This LaLiga season will be very tough.”

Finally, he praised David Soria. Djené congratulated him for keeping Getafe in the game, calling him “one of the best goalkeepers in LaLiga” and insisting he should keep proving it—adding that even though they didn’t win, Soria “helps them a lot.”
