📷 MARCASevilla falls to Leverkusen in final preseason test
The Andalusians lose 2-1 away despite Miguel Sierra's opener; Schick's brace secures the win.
Sevilla failed to finish their preseason on a high. At the BayArena, García Plaza's side went down 2-1 to Bayer Leverkusen in what was their last friendly before league action begins.
The Andalusians took the lead in the 16th minute through Miguel Sierra, who struck with his left foot following a good switch of play. The academy product continues to press for a first-team debut. However, the German outfit struck back after changes in the second half. Patrik Schick needed little time to turn the game around: he headed in on 67 minutes and then completed his brace eight minutes later.
According to MARCA, Sevilla lost their way after Leverkusen's substitutions reshuffled the game. The club's sporting directors are already active in the market: the team lacked depth up front, particularly a more reliable striker. League action begins next week with Rayo Vallecano visiting the Sánchez-Pizjuán.
