Luca Zidane seals move to Leganés

Luca Zidane becomes Leganés's new goalkeeper. The 28-year-old shot-stopper, capped by Algeria, signs as a free agent following his departure from Granada, where he spent the last two seasons. During his presentation at Butarque, according to Mundo Deportivo, Zinedine Zidane's son said: "Thanks to the club and to you all. I'm very happy to be at Leganés, a club that has always caught my attention. When we knew of their interest, we were clear this was the place".

Zidane arrives with solid Second Division experience from his time at Eibar, where he established himself as one of the category's most reliable keepers. His World Cup 2026 appearance with Algeria is seen as added value for the club. Leganés sporting director Andrés Pardo praised his qualities: "He transmits great calm and energy, excellent game reading, sharp reflexes, good footwork and agility".

Regarding his goals, Zidane was straightforward: "I'm a very ambitious player, we all want to be in the top flight, but you have to take it match by match". His career includes spells at Racing de Santander, Rayo Vallecano and Eibar, plus two official appearances for Real Madrid's first team during his academy days.
