Málaga urges its fans with a “United” message during the break

Málaga head into the league break in a tough spot: they sit last in LaLiga with three points and, according to MARCA, are the only team in the division still without a win. After their loss to Villarreal, the club and players are looking to use this stretch to reset and push for a turnaround on the way to staying in the top flight.

Break to adjust

MARCA highlights that the atmosphere at Martiricos hasn’t helped either, pointing to concerns beyond results: squad planning, the physical condition of some players and—especially—a lack of goals. With almost three weeks without competition, the pause is framed as a chance to take stock, correct mistakes and approach the remaining fixtures with a different mindset.

Social message and training

In that context, the club shared a message on its social media on Monday: “This team won’t stop working or fighting. And it will do it united.” The squad returned to training at 11:00 after a group talk. The session began with physical work before moving on to drills with the ball, and the players who started on Sunday against Getafe did a lighter load than the rest.

Injuries continue to shape the week. Funes remains out, and Cajuste, Aznou, Murillo, Aarón Ochoa and Lobete are also unavailable. Málaga will train again on Tuesday at 10:30 at the annex of La Rosaleda, repeating the routine on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, before taking Saturday and Sunday off to start preparing for the return to competition, as MARCA reports.
