📷 MARCANiño ruled out for Atlético Madrid's Liga debut
Málaga's striker suffers a soleus injury and will miss the team's first match of the season on August 19th.
More bad news for Málaga after Adrián Niño picked up an injury in the friendly against Fulham. As we reported, the forward felt discomfort in the 12th minute, but medical tests have now confirmed the extent of the problem: the striker has a soleus injury in his right leg.
This leaves the Málaga side without one of their key attacking pieces for their return to La Liga after eight years. Niño will not be available for next Wednesday, August 19th, at the Metropolitano against Atlético Madrid, according to MARCA. His progress will determine when he can return to competition.
The injury list remains a concern for manager Juanfran Funes. In addition to Niño, Carlos Dotor, Fernando Calero, Diego Murillo and Moussa Diarra continue their recovery, though Juanpe and Aaron Ochoa are already training with the group. The team will rest on Friday and resume training on Saturday at La Rosaleda.
