Eibar set the pace in Segunda after a run of seven wins

Up to six teams have topped LaLiga Hypermotion in the first eight matchdays, with Castellón spending half of that stretch in first place and the two Canary sides having shared the lead weeks ago, according to MARCA.

The run began with FC Andorra, who started their campaign with a 5-1 win over AD Ceuta FC to be the first leader. But the Principality side later slipped into the relegation zone. Tenerife and Las Palmas followed as the only two to win their opening two games. After Granada took over on matchday 3, Castellón grabbed it on matchday 4 and stayed unbeaten, even though it finally slipped after a draw at Castalia.

Seven straight wins

Eibar are now back on top after posting seven straight victories, something they have not done since the late 2022-23 stretch. It’s the club’s second-best start in Segunda history, matching the breakdown of the 2025-26 season when Racing, Deportivo, Burgos, Castellón, Valladolid and Cádiz shared first.
