Castellón admits slump after first defeat, calls for sharper attitude

After a 1-0 loss at FC Andorra and just 1 point from the last two matchdays, the squad heads to Las Palmas a point off the lead.

Castellón suffered their first defeat of the season at FC Andorra (1-0), and the albinegra dressing room admits a drop in intensity over the last two matchdays: they have taken only 1 from 6 points. Players and coach, according to MARCA, agree that the key issue was a lack of intensity—especially in that Sunday clash.

Pablo Hernández sounded visibly upset and took responsibility: “We didn’t press like we’re used to, and I’m the first responsible because maybe I didn’t transmit what the team needed from minute one.” He added that they must “get it together” to turn things around.

Captain Alberto Jiménez blamed concentration: “You have to be focused for the 90 or 100 minutes.” Another captain, Diego Barri, went further and acknowledged “a deficit” in attitude, saying: “We need a slap on the wrist; we weren’t what we had been in this game.”

Castellón will try to reset when they visit Las Palmas, with the team starting the round just one point off the top spot.
