Adam Aznou ready to debut for Málaga vs Espanyol

Adam Aznou, of Málaga CF, is fully back and ready to play if Funes decides, when the team hosts Espanyol on October 9 at La Rosaleda (21:00). His return comes as the club’s left-back options have been hit again.

Up to now, José Salinas and Rafita had been splitting minutes there, but both are in a tough spot: Salinas will miss the Espanyol match due to the “fear clause” tied to his loan from the Catalan club. Rafita, meanwhile, has been called up to the Spain Under-21s after Javi Hernández’s issues at Espanyol. He plays away in San Marino this Friday (20:15) and then on October 6 versus Romania in Ibiza (19:00), returning to Málaga with only one or two sessions before Málaga–Espanyol.

With those constraints, Aznou may get a big chance, even starting. Juan Cruz (overload) and Jens Cajuste (muscle injury) are the only ones with options to return in time, while the club is still without Diego Murillo, Aaron Ochoa and Julen Lobete, according to Sport.
