Ademola Lookman returns to training with Atlético, Hjulmand next
Atlético prepares for Alavés at Mendizorroza (Oct 10) after Lookman’s return; Hjulmand should join training Tuesday.
Ademola Lookman has already rejoined group training with Atlético de Madrid this Monday, October 5, as the club begins preparations for the match on Saturday, October 10 at Mendizorroza against Deportivo Alavés. The forward was granted permission by Nigeria to miss an international friendly versus Russia, allowing him to train normally.
In the most recent international window, Lookman played 137 minutes for Nigeria without scoring or assisting, and the local press was critical of his performances. As Mundo Deportivo reports, Morten Hjulmand is next: the Danish midfielder traveled to Madrid this Monday and, barring any setbacks, is expected to be back in training on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Alejandro Grimaldo continued individual work in the gym to recover from the muscle discomfort he picked up, with the club aiming for him to be available for the Alavés game.
