Aimen Moueffek shines on his Cádiz debut with a goal and an assist
The midfielder on loan from Saint-Étienne scored and assisted in a 4-0 win over Leganés, powering Celades’ first league victory.
Aimen Moueffek made his debut for Cádiz with a goal and an assist in Albert Celades’ first league win. The Moroccan influenced two goals in the 4-0 victory over Leganés, making an immediate impact in a short spell on the pitch.
Dream start
Moueffek arrived on loan from Saint-Étienne in the final hours of the transfer window and needed weeks to get match-fit. Celades gave him his chance in the 54th minute, replacing Doué, when the game was already moving after Vladys’ second goal.
His link-up in midfield paid off quickly: one of his actions produced the pass for Antoñito Cordero to complete his brace and make it 3-0. The 4-0 came in the 82nd minute, when Moueffek converted a cross from Borja Vázquez following a strong individual run.
After the match, Moueffek said: "I needed a bit of time to prepare, but today I felt good." As MARCA reports, the debut also gives Celades a new option in midfield.
