Alberto González leaves Albacete after losing 1-3 to Eibar
Albacete sack the coach after only 1 point from 24 in the league, ending his 108 official games at Carlos Belmonte.
Albacete have sacked Alberto González after their 1-3 home defeat to Eibar, another league setback that leaves the club with just 1 point from 24.
In its statement, the club said it felt forced to make the “difficult” decision to part ways with the coach and his staff, Enrique González and Juanjo Rico. González arrived at Carlos Belmonte on March 27, 2024 and departs after 108 official matches: 39 wins, 30 draws and 39 losses.
A start that couldn’t hold
His record includes both extremes: the five consecutive wins that helped secure survival in his first season and, on the other side, the club’s worst-ever Second Division start.
González will say goodbye to supporters tomorrow in a press conference at 10:30 at the Carlos Belmonte press room, as the club confirmed.
