Alberto González: “The dynamic will change” vs Girona

Albacete and Girona will kick off the seventh matchday with a game shaped by an unusually high number of absences. In his pre-match remarks, Albacete’s coach Alberto González said he skipped the coaches’ meeting at the RFEF’s training facilities because his team’s schedule didn’t allow it, and instead focused on preparing for Girona.

Confidence despite setbacks

González also clarified the message he delivered to his squad. Rather than dwelling on mistakes, he pushed for belief: “more than anything, confidence, that we keep trusting what we’re doing.” He added that he doesn’t sense any doubts from inside the club—what he receives, he said, is “trust” and that the situation is understood “perfectly.”

He grounded his optimism on the idea that Albacete are competing well and are often “inside” matches, even if results haven’t followed yet. “In all the games we’re in it… and by probability, doing things the way we are doing them, the dynamic will change and results will come,” González said. He also weighed in on the effect of international absences for the opponent: “Of course it will affect them, but how much, we don’t know.”

The Albacete squad arrives with ten unavailable players, including the most recent setbacks of Javi Moreno, Lorenzo Aguado and Antonio David. Rober González is expected to return, while Munir El Haddadi’s availability is still to be decided. On Girona’s side, the international break leaves them without six players: Vanat, Asprilla, Junior, Lass, Krapyvtsov and Pyshchur, and they also come impacted by injuries in the attacking department.

For González, this Friday’s trip to Montilivi takes on extra importance because, with Girona facing 15 days without their internationals and Albacete hit by absences, the unusually high number of missing players reshapes the contest.
