Álex Marchal left out as Real Sociedad name 24 for Deportivo trip

Real Sociedad, coached by Pellegrino Matarazzo, head into the match against Deportivo La Coruña with a 24-man squad in which Álex Marchal misses out. The full-back did not travel with the Sanse to Vigo and did train in Zubieta on the day of selection, but he has ultimately been left out.

The coach brings Héctor Fort back after doubts at right-back: the Catalan completed his second consecutive group session on Saturday after recovering from a knee knock that kept him out of an earlier friendly derby versus Athletic and left him a week away from training. Oyarzabal also joins the group on the eve of the game.

The list includes a return for Igor Zubeldia after a month out due to physical issues before the match against Atlético. Gorka Carrera is called up with the first team as an extra ‘9’ cover with Oyarzabal in mind. Third choice goalkeeper Theo Folgado completes the squad. Mundo Deportivo also points to the absences of Odriozola and Aramburu (injured) and Orri Óskarsson (suspended).
