Alex Scott: Bournemouth may consider selling him in January for £80m+
Refusing a new deal with 18 months left, the England midfielder could be on the move if Bournemouth are safe in January.
Alex Scott is still refusing to sign a new contract at Bournemouth, and with his current deal expiring in just over 18 months, the club is starting to soften its stance on selling. Sky Sports reports Bournemouth could consider offers over £80m in January, provided the team is practically safe from relegation.
The midfielder, it’s said, won’t push for a transfer, but is ambitious and keen to explore options with bigger clubs. Bournemouth prefer not to lose him, yet they’re aware his value may drop further as time goes on.
Interest has been consistent since the summer: Chelsea and Liverpool remain heavily involved, and Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham were also linked before strengthening their midfield after being told Scott wasn’t for sale. In the Premier League this season, Bournemouth still haven’t won and they were beaten 5-1 by Chelsea last weekend.
