Alex Scott (Bournemouth) withdraws from England, could miss weeks
He picked up a tendon injury during England’s 7-0 win vs Croatia and will return to Bournemouth for further checks; early estimate: several weeks.
Alex Scott, the Bournemouth midfielder, has withdrawn from the England squad after sustaining a tendon injury in the 7-0 win over Croatia. He is due to return to his club for further assessment to determine the full extent of the problem.
Early indications suggest he could be out for “several weeks”, though additional scans are planned. Scott impressed in his first England start in Rijeka and was praised for linking up well with Elliot Anderson, after they won the U21 Euros in 2025.
He asked to come off in the second half after feeling pain and has been undergoing scans to identify the issue. Sky Sports also reported that his grandfather died while he was away with England, but Scott stayed to play in honour of a man he was very close to.
