Álex Sola (Almería) faces an internal ban after testing 0.76 alcohol

Almería will apply its internal disciplinary rules after the crash, leaving the scene and 0.76 mg/l alcohol—triple the limit, per MARCA.

Álex Sola is set to face an internal disciplinary penalty from UD Almería after the full-back had a car crash in the early hours from Saturday to Sunday, just hours after beating Burgos, and then left the scene.

As MARCA reports, he was later found by the police and returned a reading of 0.76 mg/l of alcohol in exhaled air, a figure described as three times the allowed limit. The club plans to follow its internal disciplinary framework with a so-called “exemplary” punishment, with no precedent since the arrival of the current Saudi ownership, although it will not publish details. Separately, ‘El Chiringuito’ said this Monday that Sola would be temporarily sidelined from the first team and hit with a heavy fine.
