Alfon aims for match rhythm with Sevilla: “A better version is already showing”
Sevilla winger Alfon, back from his Villarreal loan, says in a press conference that he’s over his pre-season injury and improving day by day.
Alfon González, Sevilla winger, addressed the media at the club’s training ground to talk about his progress after the pre-season injury that set him back. As reported by MARCA, the player—who has returned to Nervión after his loan spell at Villarreal—believes the recovery is now translating into better performances and match fitness.
From injury to rhythm
According to the article, the winger explained that the problem came at the worst possible time, when he was already close to being fully ready. “I was unlucky with that injury, but it’s starting to be seen that there’s a much better version of me,” he said. He also stressed that he’s training “very well” and waiting for his moment as he builds up his rhythm.
The report adds that he has played two matches this season, which fits his message of taking things step by step.
Breaks, competition and group spirit
On the international break/period without competition, Alfon admits it feels “too long” but believes the Antonio Puerta Trophy will help the team keep momentum. He also welcomed the competition around him: “We can’t relax at any moment,” because, as he put it, there is “a lot of level” in his position.
Finally, he described the squad’s unity and atmosphere, saying they act like “a family”. When asked about his future, he made it clear he wants to make his case at Sevilla: “I’m not thinking about that at all. I want to succeed at Sevilla.”
In the same session, Alfon praised Luis García Plaza for the start of the season, arguing that the team looks “very recognizable,” competitive, and that the coach is helping everyone improve day by day.
