Álvaro Celades under pressure as Cádiz lose 0-1 to Sporting

Cádiz coached by Álvaro Celades fell 0-1 to Sporting on 14 October 2026, with the goal arriving “in the last moments”. As MARCA reports, the team is starting to look more like what the coach wants after failing to hold things together against Leganés and then losing again a week later.

Progress, still no points

The positive signs are tied to the 4-0 win over Leganés: goals came, the right connections appeared, and a young squad showed plenty of quality. But the frustration remains because Cádiz still drop advantages with fine margins near goal—extra touches, passes that don’t stick, and transitions that lose momentum.

Celades also didn’t manage to fix the game from the bench. The substitutions reduced Cádiz’s presence and Sporting finished the match feeling more comfortable, particularly in the final minutes.
