Anaitz Arbilla (Eibar) is untouchable: starts every match

Anaitz Arbilla, captain of Eibar, remains a guaranteed starter: at 39 he has been in the starting XI for every match since Jokin Aranbarri took over. In goal, Jon Mikel Magunagoitia has also started all of the team’s games.

As reported by MARCA, Arbilla’s availability stands out too. He has been in the infirmary very rarely over the last five years, unlike his early muscular issues at the club under José Luis Mendilibar, when he managed to exceed 30 league appearances in just one season. In the last two years, he has missed 10 games due to injury.

Even with defensive reinforcements arriving every summer, the veteran has won the competition. Now, with Nolaskoain back and Elgezabal performing well, Aranbarri will have to think, but Arbilla renews “year by year” and, in his 11th campaign at Ipurua, hasn’t shown signs of wear.
