Ángel Torres urges LaLiga to accept Dani Carvajal after this week
Getafe’s president says the Dani Carvajal deal is ready, pending the player’s approval and final details before the Thursday match.
Getafe president Ángel Torres said ahead of the trip to FC Barcelona that the signing of Dani Carvajal is in place, pending the player’s “ok” and LaLiga’s acceptance of the move. Torres stressed they are “waiting for Dani to say yes” after the fine print is reviewed.
Carvajal himself set the timeline: “It’s pending; this week we’ll sort out the details and if Dani says ‘let’s go,’ then let’s go. The fine print has to be checked.” He added the core point of the agreement: “Everything is discussed and agreed; it’s just pending that Dani tells us this week.”
Torres framed the club’s context around resources and injuries: “We’re a modest club; we’ve got three long-term injuries” which, in a small squad like Getafe’s, “drives you crazy”. He also referenced the stadium work, noting there is “another year and a half” left.
On the match itself, Getafe expect a tough test: “Keeping a clean sheet against Barça is very difficult,” but they arrive “with motivation and desire,” aiming to “leave alive” and “give the face” on Thursday.
