Arsenal beat Everton 2-0 in Premier League matchday 8 and took advantage of City's slip to move closer to the leaders. Mikel Arteta's side have 21 points, the same as Manchester City, but sit second on goal difference, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Konsa opened the scoring from a tight corner that the Everton defence could not clear. Mikel Merino, who started, was one of the most involved players, while Martín Zubimendi again had few minutes and remains the last option in midfield.

In the second half, Gabriel Magalhães gave Arsenal fans a scare when he twisted his knee on a clearance in the rain and lay on the grass for a few minutes before carrying on. Shortly after, he rose above everyone to meet a cross from White and head in the final 2-0.
