Arsenal cruise past Lille in the Champions League: 3-0
Arteta’s side broke the game in the second half with three goals in seven minutes to extend a winning start in the Champions League.
Arsenal took control of their Champions League group-stage match against Lille, winning 3-0 at the Emirates. The key stretch came in the second half, when they scored three times in seven minutes.
Jurrien Timber opened the scoring with a fine finish over the goalkeeper after Noni Madueke’s pass, before Eberechi Eze made it 2-0 with a touch of deflection. Bukayo Saka then added the third, arriving from the bench and scoring six minutes after coming on following crisp interplay with Martin Ødegaard and Kai Havertz.
Despite being frustrated for about an hour, the win was sealed once Timber found the net. Mikel Arteta rotated heavily with five changes from the 2-1 win over Leeds, and the substitutes helped Arsenal follow up last month’s success against Napoli and keep their winning run going, according to Sky Sports.
