Arsim Blaku arrested over robbery at Joan García’s home and Koundé watch

Mossos d’Esquadra detained two men linked to a 10 January break-in while Joan García was in Saudi Arabia.

Mossos d’Esquadra have detained two men, aged 58 and 42, over their alleged involvement in home robberies, including the break-in at Joan García’s (FC Barcelona) residence on 10 January. As reported by La Vanguardia, the group would be led by Arsim Blaku, who has a criminal record.

The incident happened while the goalkeeper was in Saudi Arabia with Barça for the Spanish Super Cup. Two individuals entered the home he shares with his partner in Baix Llobregat, and security cameras showed the intruders searching the property. The alarm triggered the local police, the Mossos and security personnel hired by the club.

The investigation also ties the group to surveillance and a possible robbery at Jules Koundé’s home, although they did not manage to get in. They are further linked to other high-end home raids in Catalonia, including Peralada, Agullana and Sant Pere de Ribes. A third person is under investigation: a woman was released after appearing before a judge, while both detained men have been sent to prison.
