Aston Villa sink Fenerbahçe 6-0 as Nicolas Jackson & Barkley shine

Aston Villa routed Fenerbahçe 6-0 on their Champions League return to Villa Park. Nicolas Jackson and Ross Barkley shared the goals with two each, and Johan Manzambi also found the net as Unai Emery’s side stamped total control on the night.

Manzambi opened the scoring when his shot was deflected in past Ederson. Even with Zion Suzuki making a strong save from Vedat Muriqi, the game was effectively decided by half-time. Jackson then struck twice in the first half, both aimed to Ederson’s right, to set the 3-0 scoreline at the break.

In the second half, the margin never looked in doubt. Sky Sports reports that despite familiar names in the Turkish squad, including Nathan Aké starting and Romelu Lukaku coming on, Fenerbahçe couldn’t get the momentum needed to turn it around.
