Athletic and Rayo target Nov 4 to resume the suspended match
The game was halted after 13 minutes for objects thrown; the remaining 77 minutes could be played behind closed doors on Nov 4.
Rayo Vallecano and Athletic Club are looking at Wednesday, Nov 4 as the main option to play the 77 remaining minutes from their match, suspended shortly after kickoff due to objects thrown.
As MARCA reports, October’s schedule forces Athletic to recover first at Levante on Wednesday, Oct 21, then to debut in the Copa del Rey on Thursday, Oct 29. If the Nov 4 date doesn’t work, the backup is Wednesday, Nov 25, after the international break, with both clubs aiming to finish the episode at the first available window.
The postponement also benefits Athletic’s medical situation: Oihan Sancet and Nico Williams missed the trip to Madrid with injuries, while Aymeric Laporte—absent due to illness—could be ready. Under the rules for suspended matches, any registered player can be used except those who were already substituted or sanctioned, meaning Terzić could deploy his two main attacking threats if they’re fit.
